Mid-Course Feedback (also known as MCF, and formerly known as “Midterm Evaluations of Teaching”) is when instructors collect informal, formative feedback from students partway through a course. Instructors might do this in a variety of ways, including by circulating a survey to students or by asking questions verbally in class. The format instructors use to collect MCF (e.g. online vs. on paper, types of questions, etc.) can also vary between instructors, and they may choose to evaluate any number of things like teaching, course content, course pacing, etc. Find more information about MCF at UBC at http://midterm.teacheval.ubc.ca/about.
